Over a Century of Excellence in Dyes, Colorants & Functional Materials

Orient Corporation of America, established in 1979 in Port Newark, New Jersey, has long been recognized as a premier manufacturer of Nigrosine Dye in the Western Hemisphere. In 1991, the company relocated its operations to Seaford, Delaware, home to one of the world’s most advanced production facilities.


In 2007, Orient added a state-of-the-art R&D center at the Seaford site, driving innovation and supporting the development of new products to meet evolving market demands. The company also maintains a substantial inventory of dyes and colorants produced by its parent company, Orient Chemical Industries of Japan, a global leader since 1917.


Orient’s diverse portfolio of colorants serves industries ranging from inkjet inks, writing inks, and paints to electrographic toner and plastics. With the rise of inkjet printing, the company has developed solutions tailored to the growing need for high-resolution office automation equipment.

Orient opened our USA operations in New York City in 1979. In the following years, we would open our first production plant and warehousing in Newark, New Jersey in order to better serve North American customer base. 

   

On September 21, 1991, we moved our manufacturing and warehousing operations to Seaford, Delaware. This is one of the world’s most technologically advanced manufacturing sites for the production of Nigrosine Dye.
